To be honest with you, I'm not really sure who she is either. I think she's a model/actress/TV presenter-type person (you know, one of those ones who pops up on Bravo, or Men & Motors (does that still exist?). Anyway, these photos, from Maxim magazine, are linked in with some video game or other, and show Ms. Edwards as the "feisty" heroine. Whatever. She's fit and dressed in rubber and has got some guns. Aria Giovanni Getting Very Wrapped Up!
Oh lordy - does it get any better, or any kinkier than this? The divine Aria G (might as well just have this site dedicated to her, shouldn't I? These photos, taken from a recent issue of Vogue magazine, show our Kate in an array of kinky fetish clothing, including a pair of rubber knickers from Anatomic Bomb (£30 a pair if you're interested). While these photos are great, they also raise an important question: do we want our fetish world to become too integrated with the real world? With Dita Von Teese appearing on the cover of magazines like New Woman, are we losing the parts of our culture that are most sacred to us - or is it a good thing that the world embraces their inner kink?
For instance, you may have heard about a band, or seen then accidentally on TV, and you decided they're the best thing since sliced bread, but no-one else has ever heard of them. And then they go and have a huge hit and become everyone's favourite band. And so you feel slightly cheated, and miffed that your little secret is out, and you don't have that feeling of possession any more. And that's sort of how I feel about this sort of thing.
Okay, it's not as if New Look are going to start selling latex dresses and gimp masks (although they would be a heck of a lot cheaper), but I think we should keep our underground culture underground, where it belongs. It wouldn't be any fun out in the light, would it? There was a short story in an issue of Marquis magazine a few years back, where rubber was the norm, and so a woman was getting off on the fact that she was wearing white cotton knickers under her latex dress. So I suppose there will always be an underground, regardless of what society is doing.
